Assessment and evaluation are essential components in helping the students’ progress in their learning and to assist the teacher’s progress in teaching.
I believe it is vital for the teacher to be aware of the key ideas in assessment and evaluation for the lessons to be successful and clear.
There are many assessment strategies and various approaches teachers use to evaluate the students, such as formal and informal which are used every day.
I believe that it is important to know what level the students are, academically, emotionally, and socially. Understanding the students can help plan lessons and units to suit the range of capabilities within the class. As the unit progresses, the teacher and students can formatively assess how they are going and if an adaptations or modifications need to be made at the end, both student and teacher can assess the progress.
